Kalkals or Shankarpali recipe

Ingredients:

Sugar 1 cup

Water 1cup

Maida 4 cups

Sooji - 2 tbsp

Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp

Salt - 1/4 tsp

Ghee- 4 tbsp

Oil to fry

Method:

In a large bowl, put water and sugar and melt it using a spoon

Add maida, sooji, cardamom, salt and ghee and mix nicely to make a dough like chapati dough. 

Now divide into 4 parts. And roll the dough into thick chapati... And cut into diamonds using knife or pizza cutter. 

Heat the oil and fry in medium flame until brown, repeat with all dough. And cool Completely before storing in air tight container. 

For kalkals, take small little marble size balls and press it on the back of a fork and roll to shape of kalkals and fry.
