How to make Andhra Chilli Chicken
Chilli Chicken is a dish that can be served both as a starter or main course.
Chilli chicken recipe
A very simple and easy dish that gets done quickly.
Ingredients:
Chicken (medium sized pieces) 500 gms
Chillies 20-30 (depending on the spice)
Turmeric 1 TSP
Salt as required
White vinegar 1 TSP
Dark Soya sauce 2 tbsp
Oil 2 tbsp
Corn flour 1 tbsp
Water half cup
Method:
Grind 15-20 chillies coarsely in a mixer without water and the rest of chillies slit and keep aside.
Heat a thick bottom pan and add oil.
Fry green chillies paste and the ones which are cut for 2 mins.
Now add the washed chicken, salt, turmeric and fry for 5 mins on high flame.
And then add the vinegar with soya sauce, mix well and cover the lid.
Cook for 6-7 mins on low flame.
And then add water - 4 tbsp and cook until chicken is well cooked. The remainjng 4 tbsp water mix with corn flour to make corn flour slurry.
Once chicken is cooked, add the corn flour slurry and stir well , check for spice and salt and adjust to your taste.
Switch off once the gravy thickens as per consistency needed.
Serve hot as an accompaniment or main course with hot rice.
