Doodhi Halwa Recipe
Yet another easy to make the recipe and healthy too as we are using jaggery.
Bottle gourd halwa using jaggery
Ingredients:
Bottle gourd - 500 gms - grated
Ghee - 2 tbsp + 1/4 cup
Milk - 1/2 cup
Khova - 1/2 cup
Dryfruits - cashew nuts and raisins
Cardamom powder
Jaggery powder - 3/4 cup or as required
Method:
Firstly in a deep/heavy Kadai, heat the 2 tbsp Ghee and fry the dry fruits and keep aside, and in the same pan fry the bottle gourd gratings for few minutes until all the water evaporates and then add the milk and cover and cook until the bottle gourd is cooked completely and the milk evaporates. Now add the jaggery and mix well until all the water evaporates and forms a dough. Now add the mashed khoya and cardamom powder and mix well and then add the ghee and mix well until ghee separates. now add the dry fruits and mix well once. The Halwa is ready to serve hot or cold.
