Raw Bananas contain resistant starch, which is a type of starch that cannot be broken down by enzymes in your digestive system and therefore, acts more like a fiber than a starch.
All bananas are a good source of vitamin B6, Vitamin C and Potassium; and green bananas are no exception. People on low carb diets often avoid bananas because of their higher sugar content, but eating green bananas, in moderation could have benefits for both dieters and diabetics.
Ingredients:
Raw Bananas - 2 nos.
Salt - according to taste
Chilli powder - as required
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - a few
Asfoetida (hing) - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp.
Method:
Slice the Raw Bananas and immerse them in cold water. Heat a Non-stick kadai, and add oil. Season with Mustard, curry leaves and hing. Now take the banana slices from the water and add it to the oil. Fry them for a while and add salt and turmeric powder. Cover with lid and cook on low flame until just done. Add the chilli powder and fry for 1 minute. The delicious raw banana fry is done.
You can serve them with chutney as a starter or as a side dish for any meal.
When you use less spice, children too enjoy them as they taste good.
