How to make Honey cake at home


Ingredients:

1 sponge cake (recipe for eggless sponge cake)

1/4 cup honey + 2 tbsp Honey

1/4 cup Sugar

1/2 cup water

Strawberry/mixed fruit jam - 1/2 cup

desiccated coconut for garnishing

Method:

In a pan, mix sugar and water and bring to a boil for a couple of minutes, switch off and allow it to cool a little. When the sugar syrup is warm add honey and mix well.

Prick the sponge cake with a fork and pour the syrup to soak the cake nicely and keep aside. use as much of this syrup as required to soak the cake nicley.

Next, take another pan and add the jam and honey, mix well on low flame until it just forms a mixture and don’t overheat it. allow to cool a little

Spread this mixture on the soaked cake nicely and evenly. And then sprinkle the desiccated coconut on top and the cake is ready to serve.
