Mangalore Buns recipe

Easy to make snacks for evening tea or breakfast. 

Mangalore buns, a easy to make dish but tastes very yummy. 


Ingredients

2 ripened bananas (the big spotted variety) 

2 tbsp sugar

1/4 cup curds

1 tsp cumin seeds

A pinch of baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups refined flour

Oil to fry


Method:

In a bowl, mash the bananas and sugar together, nicely with a fork and dont use mixer. 

Then add, curds, cumin, salt and soda and again mix well to make a smooth consistency. 

Then add maida and make a smooth dough by kneading well for 5 mins. 

Apply oil over the dough and keep it covered and rest for min 8 hours. 

Heat oil in a pan, and roll out small pooris, by pinching small amount of dough balls. It should be little thicker disk than puris. 

Now, deep fry on medium flame until brown on both sides. 

Serve with coconut chutney and chai
