Quick, easy and tasty Moon Dal Halwa recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup Moong dal
1 cup Sugar (add more if you like very sweet)
2.5 cups water
Ghee 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
Milk powder - 3 tbsp
Method:
Dry roast the dal in a pan until it turns lightly brown in low flame. Maybe upto 10-12 mins.
Allow it to cool completely and grind it in a fine coarse powder. Like fine rawa texture.
Heat a deep heavy bottom pan and add ghee, roast the dal flour in that upto it changes to dark brown... For 10-12 mins in low flame until it becomes aromatic. When you are doing thus boil the water on other side. Then add the milk powder to the dal and mix it nicely, and add hot water slowly little by little and mix in low flame. The water gets absorbed. Add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well and keep frying for 10 mins. Close the lid and cook for 5 mins. Again open the lid and fry for 3 mins. The ghee should separate and the halwa should look dark brown and not stick to hand when touched.
Halwa is ready to serve.
