Mosaru saru - Curd gravy or curry
A simple gravy for a lazy summer afternoon or when you want to have a soothing dish.
Ingredients:
Ash gourd or Mangalore cucumber - 2 cups cubed
Curd (little sour) - 2 cups beaten and diluted according to desired consistency for gravy.
Coconut grating - 2 tbsp
Oil - 2 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Green chilli -2
Ginger a small piece
Curry leaves
Mustard
Red chilies - 2
Hing - 1/4 tsp
Salt
Turmeric powder
Method:
Heat a pan, add oil and splutter mustard, curry leaves, hing and dry red chillies and add the vegetables with 2 cups water salt and turmeric. Grind the coconut, ginger, jeera, and chilli with water and make a smooth paste. Once the vegetables cooked completely, add the coconut paste and bring to a boil. Now add the buttermilk just warm it and switch off the stove. Don't allow to boil.
Serve with rice and some vegetables as accompaniment for lunch.
