Eggless Rava Cake (Semolina Cake)

Easy to make quick recipe of an eggless cake. Serve this with hot cup of coffee on a rainy day or when you have friends at home for an evening chat.

The texture of the cake is coarse unlike the flour cakes and the taste differs a lot and it is yummy to eat and good for your tummy too.

Ingredients:
  • Rava (Semolina) - 1 Cup
  • Yoghurt/curd - 1 cup
  • Sugar (powdered) - 1 Cup
  • 4 Tbsp Ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Nuts & Raisins (walnuts & almonds broken) 
  • Salt - a pinch
Method:

Take a large bowl and sieve the dry ingredients together - Rava, Sugar powder, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Now add the wet ingredients and mix/beat well to make the cake batter (it has to be thick batter like Idli batter or you can add some water if required to get the consistency). Add the dry fruits & nuts.

Grease a cake tin/mold and pour the batter into it. Preheat the oven to 180 Degree and put the tin inside; then bake the cake for 20 minutes or until the knife comes out clean when inserted in the center of the cake.

Serve it when warm with Hot Tea/Coffee.
