Pepper Mutton Fry

Mutton pepper fry is one of the favorite non-veg dish for me and my hubby. We enjoy this a lot with hot rice or rotis.

This is a semi-dry dish, there will be a thick gravy but spicy, my mouth is watering :P

Ingredients:
Mutton (Lamb) - 1/2 kg cut into medium sized cubes
Onion - 2 big (one onion for grinding and another for seasoning)
Garlic - 8/10 cloves
Ginger - 1/2" piece
Green chillies - 4/5
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
Pepper corns - 3 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 2 tbsp
Water - 1 cup
Lemon juice - 2 tsp

Method:
Wash the mutton pieces and keep aside. Grind one onion, garlic, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves and pepper corn to a fine paste and keep aside. In a pressure cooker pan, add oil when the pan is hot and add the chopped onion and fry until brown. Add the ground masala along with chilli powder and coriander powder. Fry until the oil separates, then add the garam masala and salt and fry for another 30 secs.
Add the mutton pieces and fry for 5 mins and then add water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles (or until the mutton is cooked), depending on your type of pressure cooker.
Once the pressure is out, open the pan, add lemon juice and simmer it until the gravy gets thick as desired. Garnish with coriander and mint leaves and serve hot with rice or rotis.
